Old "Never-a-Quitter" Custer, pictured here, in perhaps
what has come to be known as one of his most
ill-fated attempts at fame. Much to his credit
Georgie kept on smiling long after it became apparent
that the Department Store Custer was not going to catch
on as a Holiday tradition. But, he got right back up
in the saddle and started work on his next Holiday project, the Custy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and shooting has begun on his new movie "Miracle at Little Big Horn Avenue & 34th Street" co-starring Hillary Clinton, Theodore Roosevelt and a young Natalie Wood. Now, that's sure to be a classic the whole family can enjoy.

Please keep in mind, all first-hand accounts were kept with original spelling and grammer.
For many early settlers their letters and journals were the only outlets they had to fill the lonely hours and feel somehow connected to society and loved ones far away.
I cannot correct them.
